SHONTELLE SPARKLES / OWNER

Shontelle Sparkles, the 31st National Entertainer of the Year, is a true testament to the power of passion, perseverance, and self-expression. Born and raised in Southern Florida, and now calling Louisville, Kentucky home, Shontelle’s story began in Fort Myers, Florida, as Shawn Berger Jr., the eldest of three siblings. Inspired by his mother’s career as a hairstylist, Shawn followed his passion for beauty and enrolled in cosmetology school in 2011 in Tampa, Florida. It was there that Shawn discovered the art of Female Impersonation, competing in local talent shows and slowly transforming into the iconic entertainer Shontelle Sparkles.

Fusing his love for hairstyling and performing, Shawn began styling wigs for drag shows under his stage name, Shontelle Sparkles. His talent soon caught the attention of the entertainment world, leading to the opportunity to be the backup dancer and cast hairstylist for Andy Bell’s international tour. This was just the beginning of Shontelle’s rise to stardom.

Over the past seven years, Shontelle Sparkles has perfected her craft, mastering the art of growth—both as an artist and as a businesswoman. Through hard work and dedication, she’s become a sought-after hair and makeup artist for some of the biggest names in entertainment, including Shangela, Todrick Hall, Nina West, Mokha Montrese, Priyanka, Manila Luzon, Andy Bell, and many more. Her work has been featured in Gay Times, Cosmopolitan, Entertainment Weekly, and on the runway of RuPaul’s Drag Race. You can also spot her creations on pageant queens across the nation.

In 2022, after years of preparation, Shontelle stepped back onto the stage for her second attempt to secure the title of National Entertainer of the Year. This time, she took home the crown, claiming the prestigious title of National Entertainer of the Year F.I.. Shontelle is deeply grateful for the love and support she’s received along the way and is thrilled to embark on this next chapter with her new business venture, Glitterbomb Wigs.

As a national titleholder, Shontelle is on a mission to inspire others to embrace their authentic selves, step outside the box, and fearlessly carve their own path. She encourages you to be yourself, #sparkyourcreativity, and let your imagination soar. The world is yours to create, and your unique voice has the power to take others on an unforgettable journey.

AURA AURORA

Chandler Skye, born and raised in the cornfields of Indiana, always knew he was destined for more than the family factory life. Inspired early on by watching his mom get ready—helping her choose outfits and apply makeup—her passing when he was just 9 ignited a lifelong love for drag.

At 17, he stepped into the spotlight as Aura Aurora, channeling his grief into glam. That same year, he bought his first lace front wig and roller set—and a passion for wig styling was born.

Eight years later, Aura is living her dream as a full-time hairstylist both in the salon and with Glitterbomb Wigs. Self-taught until recently, joining the Glitterbomb team and learning under the legendary Shontelle Sparkles has been a game-changer. With creativity now fully unleashed, Aura is proof that chasing your passion pays off—and the glow-up never ends.

AVA ROSE PAIN

Ava Rose—Missouri Entertainer of the Year F.I. 2023—is the stage persona of Jamilynn Akins, a proud Arkansan trans woman based in Conway. A self-made drag artist with 8 years of experience, Jamilynn’s journey in drag not only helped her discover her true identity, but also launched a thriving career in wig styling.

When the 2020 lockdown paused performances, Jamilynn pivoted—turning her skill for custom wig styling into a business: WigsByJamilynn. Her unique touch quickly gained traction, leading to collaborations with drag icons like Trinity K. Bonet and Peaches Christ, and her work has graced national stages including Miss ContinentalMiss Gay America, and Miss Gay USofA—even reaching international clients.

In 2022, she entered the pageant world, and just a year later, took home the Missouri EOY F.I. crown. That journey not only elevated her artistry but built meaningful connections, including with mentor Shontelle Sparkles.

Now a team member at Glitterbomb Wigs, Jamilynn continues to evolve, bringing joy, beauty, and bold creativity to every client she styles—one fierce wig at a time.
